GW Launcher

Tray & Shortcuts

System tray

GW Launcher lives in the system tray (next to the clock). The main window hides itself when it loses focus rather than cluttering your taskbar.

  • Left-click the tray icon to bring the window back.
  • Right-click the tray icon to open it and keep it pinned open.

Want it to start hidden? Enable Launch minimized in Settings — useful if you launch GW Launcher on Windows startup.

Desktop shortcuts

Create a shortcut that launches one specific account with a single double-click — no need to open the launcher window first:

Select an accountCreate Desktop Shortcut

This drops a <Account Name>.lnk on your Desktop. Double-clicking it runs GW Launcher with -launch "<Account Name>", which launches just that account and then gets out of the way.

The shortcut matches accounts by their display name (Title, or character name). If you rename an account, recreate its shortcut.

Command line

The shortcut uses the same flag you can run yourself:

GW_Launcher.exe -launch "Account Name"

Handy for batch files or other launchers that want to start a specific Guild Wars account.
